Register your team

Registering takes a few minutes and doesn’t need anyone from Lovat. The person who registers becomes the team’s first scouting lead.

Before you start

You need access to an email address your team keeps, like scouting@yourteam.org or a mentor’s address. Lovat sends a confirmation code there to check that the team is yours. It also becomes the team’s contact email, where lost join codes and team notices go, so use an address the team will still have next season rather than a student’s personal email.

Register

1. Sign in to Lovat Dashboard and enter your name.
2. Enter your team number and select Continue. If the team isn’t on Lovat yet, you’ll see Register team ….
3. Enter the Team contact email and select Send code.
4. Enter the code from that inbox and select Register team …. The code expires in 15 minutes.

If Lovat says the team is already registered, someone on your team got there first. Ask them for the join code under Settings → Team.

After registering

Your team is ready to scout. Next steps:

1. Bring your teammates in. Share the join code from Settings → Team. Everyone who joins starts as an analyst; make other leads from the member list. See Members and roles.
2. Pick your event. Use the event switcher at the top of the sidebar. Your team’s events come first: the ones you’re on the team list for or have scouted. Your team’s apps keep an offline copy of their shared numbers.
3. Add your scouters and shifts. See Scouters and shifts. Scouters can also add their own names from Collection.
4. Enroll your scouting phones. See Scouting phones.
5. Install the apps on the devices you’ll bring to events. They keep working when the venue Wi-Fi doesn’t. See Which app to use.
