Lovat Collection
Set up a scouting phone
Join your team in Lovat Collection by scanning a code, then pick your name and event.
Lovat Collection is the app your scouters use during matches. Scouters don’t create accounts. Instead, each phone is enrolled into your team once, by scanning a code from a scouting lead’s Lovat Dashboard.
You’ll need to be on a team registered with Lovat to scout. If your team isn’t on Lovat yet, a scouting lead can register it in a few minutes.
Enroll the phone
Section titled “Enroll the phone”You need a scouting lead nearby with Lovat Dashboard open, and the phone needs an internet connection for this one step.
- On the lead’s Dashboard: open Scouting → Devices and select Enroll a Collection phone. A QR code appears.
- On the scouting phone: open Lovat Collection and tap Scan enrollment code. Allow camera access when asked.
- Point the camera at the code. The phone joins the team.
One code works for every scouting phone on your team until it expires, so a lead can put it on a screen and let everyone scan it. You can also scan the code with the phone’s own camera app, which opens Collection and enrolls it.
Choose your name
Section titled “Choose your name”Next, Collection asks Who’s scouting?
- Tap your name if it’s already on the list. Type in the search field to find it.
- If it isn’t there, type your full name and tap Add “…”. New names work offline and sync to your team later.
Make sure you pick your own name. Your scouting lead uses it to build shifts and to follow up on reports.
Choose your event
Section titled “Choose your event”Pick the event you’re scouting at from Choose your event. The list covers this season and last season. If it’s empty, connect to the internet once so the phone can download the events.
After that you’re on the match selector, ready to scout a match.
You can change your name and event later in Settings.
Practice first
Section titled “Practice first”Turn on Training mode in Settings before your first real match. Practice reports are saved and sent like any other report, but marked as practice, so they stay out of your team’s analysis. Turn it off before the competition starts.
